Holiday Arty Party
I am so full of gratitude to spend time with Suzanne and her Arty Party Ladies. Here's a picture from our first Party together and this weekends party. Time sure flies when you are having fabulous fun with friends.
It was great seeing old friends and getting to know new ones. The Arty Parties that Suzanne throws are magical, fun and full of joy! Hardworking ladies in the Wash DC area get to connect with other like minded creatives. The clothes that Suzanne designs in her Clothesencounters line and the other designer art to wear clothing that she sells is full of color, textures and whimsy.
Suzanne thought that it would be a good idea for me to bring my knitters looms and demonstrate weaving fabric. It was so much fun teaching the ladies to weave the community storyteller scarf that was gifted to Suzanne in appreciation for throwing such a joyful arty party.
I am very appreciative of the ladies who purchased my handcrafted art to wear accessories. It was a joy for me to make them and a joy to see others wearing them with sass and pride.
We ended the Arty Party on a Joyous note! Suzanne is wearing the 2 scarves woven by her tribe of 'wild whimsical women!'

Wednesday Weaving
We had a good morning at Blue Pelican Gallery Gifts & Yarn weaving. Martha is visiting from WV and she decided to join us at our Fiberarts Open Studio. Jenn got to weave for the first time and enjoyed learning a new craft. We had a great time crafting and chatting about life, creativity and kids. It's great for working mom's to take a couple of hours for creative fun and self-care.

Calling Tiny Artist Event
I spent a awesome morning facilitating weaving at Kinnakeet Clay- Studio & Showroom for the 'Tiny Art Fundraiser being held at Indian Town Gallery next Thursday. I got to meet some great local artist's and had lots of fun making and creating. My daughter joined me also and made several pieces of tiny art. Jenn @JypSea Fabrications by Jennifer Harmon wove a beautiful small tapestry for the show. Antoinette of Kinnakeet Clay tapped into the weaving vortex too. All in all a very creative morning.

5 Day Artist Challenge
I was nominated by Delia Marsellos-Traister who is a Fantastic Fine Metal Jewelry Artist in the Los Angeles area to participate in a 5 day Facebook Artist Challenge. I took it as an opportunity to present my past work on line and to nominate some wonderful artist friends of mine. I'm currently moving in a different direction fine tuning my skills in other mediums. I enjoyed revisiting the past and seeing the continuity in my artistic journey. Vibrant color, texture and whimsy was the constant theme through the use of a variety of artistic mediums. Here is a brief example of my work.
Day 5 - I presented my 'Soulful' collection. I express my soul and creative spirit through vibrant colors, textures and all kinds of materials.
Day 4 - I presented another phase of my artistic journey, Hand weaving.
Day 3 - I presented another phase of my artistic journey, Ceramics. I found my voice in hand building clay after many poor attempts at the wheel. Once I went to hand building I was singing. So here are examples of my storytellers and baskets of course.
Day 2 - I presented pictures of my next phase of creativity, my knitting. I began knitting again as an adult while going through some heavy duty life issues. Knitting brought me comfort and joy and helped me find a new way to express my artistic voice.
Day 1 - I began my work as an artist when I found my voice in basketry. Here are three examples of my work.

Sunday Morning
I had fun this morning finishing up some unfinished projects. Finally got my sewing machine out of the box after two years. Love my finished projects and uplifted my Spirit listening to Bruno and Macklemore in the studio today.
